SUBTLETY.
I’m sick, imaginary readers! At least that explains why I was so tired and breaking out.
We’ll probably check in on Lord Downy tomorrow. Gotta keep that “secret basement” suspense up.

Have you ever seen/read Spiderwick?
Yes, I think so. As a preteen, maybe. Was there a magical monocle in that? I’m fairly sure there was no tiny shark friend.
No, but you could only see the fairies through a “seeing stone” or brownie spit. (Sorry if this is not in the right place or something, I’m replying on an iPad…)(which refused to cooperate.)
Yeah, replying on phones is weird, but I don’t think I can fix it without destroying the mobile site.
I don’t remember that from Spiderwick, but seeing stones are part of ancient fairy lore, and I read enough fantasy to have been influenced by that. I think they’re used to see past glamour and illusions, generally. HOWEVER, I’m pretty sure the monocle exists solely because I thought it was funny when I typed it out, then decided it must be used.
Just realised I replied to the first comment, not yours! XD ….. Oops.
Well, it is hilarious! No, seriously. It just works. Also, apparently hair-larious is an actual word according to google. (I misspelled hilarious as hairlarious and it accepted it. I then fixed it.)
