That banana voice has got to get annoying after a while.
I don’t think it’s ever mentioned in the comic, but in my mind, Dick has always had schizophrenia. He sees and hears things that aren’t really there, although he does tend to know what is and isn’t real.
This was one of the reasons living in Hell didn’t affect him that much. He wasn’t always there.
Panels one through three happen every morning.
The different voices don’t have their own names, or lasting personalities. They’re all him, or different versions of him.
Which either means that some form of himself is masochistic or like bananas.
…Probably masochistic.
